Hi. My name is Clea (duh) and I am a serial crafter.

I am starting this blog as a way to showcase the many, many crafts in my repertoire and any more I decide to try out.

In the last 10 years, I've done soutache jewellery, chainmaille jewellery, silver clay jewellery, sewing clothes, knitting (including knitting machines), crocheting (amigurumi, jumpers, placemats, blankets etc.), screenprinting, vinyl and htv, paper flowers, felt pasta, basket weaving, resin, and most recently, polymer clay jewellery, including miniature food items. I'm pretty sure there's some I've forgotten.

In the shop section of my website, or my Etsy shop, I offer only those items that I am happy with and that I love making. I don't offer the things that don't bring me joy or satisfaction to make because I like to do a happy dance whenever someone orders from me, and don't want to ever dread an order. Of course, some products take more time or effort to make than others, but that is usually reflected in the price.

If you have any suggestions, requests, or observations, please let me know :)

So what will my first proper blog post be about?

I thought I might start with a post about the different jewellery types I've tried over the years. I think I'll include a few mini tutorials, too.

I love jewellery, though I don't often wear it day-to-day. I don't have pierced ears, although I have had them pierced 3 times; it just never healed properly and hurt like hell for the months I persevered with them. I tried different metals and plastics, but nothing helped. So, I make a lot of clip-on earrings, because I should be able to enjoy what I make too, and I have to be able to test their endurance.

My most worn items of jewellery are the chainmaille rings I made about 10 years ago because they are gorgeous and comfortable. I also wear necklaces or bracelets on occasion, but not everyday. I try to match them to my outfit or outing.

Anyway, if jewellery is something you have an interest in, subscribe to my mailing list and (hopefully, if everything works) you'll get a notification when the next blog post goes live in the next week or two - it's the start of the school summer holidays next week, so my 5 year old will be demanding a lot of my attention.

Each blog post will be about a different craft or aspect of my small business, so please subscribe if that's of any interest to you, too.

Thanks for reading.

Clea x
